On my phone’s playlist, you will find all sorts of music. There are the soundtracks I use, praise and worship music, southern gospel and some Christmas songs. I even have the piano music to the wedding march that I used for a wedding one time. I never listen to it obviously, but yesterday, on my way home from work, it was raining and I didn’t take the time to skip to the next song. It was then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Not only is this the tune that us pianists play while the bride is marching down the aisle, it’s symbolic of the future of us who follow God.
Can you imagine with me that day when the bride of Christ (us) will be marching down the “aisle” of heaven, with Jesus standing there smiling saying, “Well done my good and faithful servant” (Matt 25:21)? We have that hope, that no matter how bad things get in our lives, if we remain faithful and true, we get to see Jesus and spend an eternity with Him. That excites me. It gives me a hope like nothing else can. I can’t wait until the day when I hear the “wedding march”, and it’s time for me to meet Jesus, face to face.
